Clutch life on a 1000cc sports bike

Discussion in 'Bling and Appearance' at netrider.net.au started by tim, Mar 4, 2009.

  1. Hi All,

Was wondering how many k's you are getting for the clutch on a 1000cc sports bike?

I changed mine at 35000 on the K1 gixxer and am about to change it again at 90000. So the 2nd set of plates has lasted 55000. Quite a difference between the two.

  2. does a blackbird count?

180,000km on the original clutch when I sold it.

    Stop doing racing starts.
  3. every bike is different.

Never done a clutch myself and have had some high k bikes.

35 seems low. 55 is more reasonable.
  4. Thanks for your replies.. Yes I know I'm not easy on clutches. I'll see how many k's I get out of the new one. :) :)
