Changing speedo cable on zxr 250

Discussion in 'Maintenance and Servicing' at netrider.net.au started by 87crisis, Oct 27, 2012.

  1. I CBC getting off my ass to check but my basic understanding for changing over a speedo cable is unconnecting the existing one which is connected down near the wheel to the back of the instrument clust and simply replacing it yes ? Any tricky parts I should know of before tackling it? Was gonna leave it for the shop to do when they take the bike in as they'll be ****ing around with my front wheel anyway but with me choosing to do the run tomorrow my woman crawled up my ass and died whinging bout how I should take the zzr instead at least until I get the speedo cable fixed
...,.......so....I'm gonna fix the speedo cable =\

  2. be sure to oil it up first, hang it up and pour some oil down the inside of the cable then spin the inner drive cable when the oil comes out the other end ,,, then your right to go .
  3. Yeah should be just a straight screw in job
