Changing handlebars?

Discussion in 'Cruisers' started by hopeless, Aug 16, 2015.

  1. I'm thinking I'd like a little more rise and pull back on the bars of my 1986 Yamaha FZX750. Being a shortarse, I have to reach slightly forward and would like to get a bit more relaxed. any suggestions for brands/styles? not wanting to spend squillions and happy to buy a used one. Looking at these ones currently

    Handlebar 7 8" Norton Commando UK Spec Genuine 06 5748 | eBay
  2. I was buggering around with the handlebars on the cb400 the other day and realised that if I rotate them too far the cables and lines begin to stretch - just keep in mind that if you're going to change the size and shape too much you might need to run new lines and or extend/shorten the wiring...
  3. Yeah, I'll have to re-route the left side and it sould be ok, but the rest is plenty long enough for the slight change. :)
