SA Changing colour of motorbike!!

Discussion in 'Politics, Laws, Government & Insurance' at netrider.net.au started by rodgonzbea, Feb 21, 2011.

  1. Hello fellow riders.. I have a question. My m'bike was stolen, later recovered but somewhat butchered. I have bought a similar one and it has a lot of very good parts, but they are a different colour. Fairings, tank, and some bits which made the main "colour" (sorry for the alliteration)registered of the bike will now be different...
Do I have to notify (officially or unofficially) motor reg? Will I have to take the bike through Regency? (The main testing station in SA, that can decide whether a vehicle is roadworthy or not, known by being a dastardly lot!!)

  2. Motor reg. does need to be informed of any change in colour, but with SA I'm not sure if that requires an inspection or is something that can simply be done over the phone/'net.
