Chain riveting

Discussion in 'Maintenance and Servicing' at netrider.net.au started by starling_bird, Mar 16, 2013.

  1. Hello all,

I am replacing the chain on my V-Strom, a first for me. I read all the tutorials and bought the DID knock-off chain break/rivet tool. All goes well until the riveting, and the tool bends, the 2 sections separate and no more riveting can be done :(
I can battle it out with the UK seller later, but now I really want to get the bike back on the road. Is there anyone in the Penrith/Western Sydney area willing to help me out or lend me a good tool to finish the job? Payment in alcohol :)
