cbr250rr main switch faulty?

Discussion in 'Technical and Troubleshooting Torque' started by weltall, Aug 20, 2009.

  1. Hi

    The bike is a 1990 cbr250rr.

When i turn the key to on position, nothing lights up.
My lights don't go on and the dash lights too ie) neutral green light.
It's like the bike is dead.

Therefore i am unable to start the bike.

Is it a faulty main switch?

  2. If you have no power after turning on I would first be checking the obvious

    1. Battery - is it dead?
    2. Fuses - All OK?

After that it gets a little harder

    3. Switch - check both sides with a multimeter
    4. Wiring to the switch - check for continuity

If any of that is too hard, take it to a dealer or auto electrician.
  3. yep battery and fuses were ok.
i've taken it to the mechanic, and the main switch was faulty.

they replaced it and now it's all good.
