CB250 Nighthawk (1997 model) Valve Question

Discussion in 'Technical and Troubleshooting Torque' started by wyndham29, Apr 24, 2015.

  1. Hi guys, currently riding a 1997 CB250, and I'm pretty familiar with it. However, the valves require an adjustment and I don't have a manual. It seems a waste to buy a brand new manual just to find out the valve clearances. I will if I have to, but it would be awesome if someone who had one was able to let me know the values! Thanks in advance :)

  2. Not that I personally know much about it, but I have a Haynes Manual for '85 to '09 models, and it says 0.06 to 0.10 mm, (0.002 to 0.004 inches), cold engine.
  3. Thanks a bunch mate, I really appreciate it! :)
  4. I did this last year on my '95 model CB250, with no previous experience and basic tools.

Took about 1 hour all up, as I took it nice and slow slow to only do it once, properly.

The bike had done almost 46,000.
A couple clearances were a bit out before and bike ran better afterwards.
