cb 750

  1. Anybody know much about these?

There's not many around and there's not much info I can find with a quick search.

    Were they imports?

I'm looking at about the 1996 model.
  2. They were sold in Australia, although some may be grey market.

They are a very reliable and fairly cheap to maintain bike. The basic motor design had been around for a while when they put it into the CB750 and was originally in the CBX750 (half faired, dual headlights) and was released as an alternative to the early VF750. The motor has an interesting hydraulic tappet arrangement that isn't often seen on bikes (although it's common on cars). That means servicing is easier and can be performed easily at home.

You could do a lot worse if you are looking for a basic, comfortable do anything sort of bike.
