CB 250 Flat Battery

Discussion in 'New Riders and Riding Tips' at netrider.net.au started by chiefy, Feb 15, 2009.

  1. Hey guys, did a search but not sure with the CB 250...

It's flat, I jump started it, will it charge the battery? It's a 2001 model.

It may sound like a silly question but my cousins bike doesn't charge a flat battery whilst running.

If it does charge it, it will take a decent ride I'm sure for a decent charge.

    Thanks for any help.

  2. you know what? as a noob motorcyclist i was thinking the same thing today, do bikes have alternators?
  3. It should definitely charge the battery, unless the battery or the charging system is fcuked. Sometimes the idle is too low, and so the headlights can overload the alternator.

Take it for a ride, it'll charge (unless the battery has been destroyed from being flat)
  4. yep all good, took it for 20 min ride and it's as good as new.

Hope that helps someone else or even zilli that posted.
