Carb sync. question, ninja250r

Discussion in 'Maintenance and Servicing' started by mattizie, Apr 22, 2013.

  1. HI folks, got around to servicing the bike, and since she (her name is orange) has got carbies. I decided to have a go at synchronising them.

T'was great fun, made a rig out of two glass bottles and tubing.

Anyway. I just thought I'd ask the professionals, but if there is a tiny leak between the connectors, will that effect the reading significantly? I plugged up that area with blu-tack, but I'm not 100% sure.

  2. It would make a difference. How much would depend on the size of the leak (or if both sides leak, the relative sizes of both). However, I've had good results from the blu-tack sealing method so I doubt if you'll be far out. Bottom line, does the bike idle more smoothly now than she did? If so, you've improved matters.
  3. Yeah, Orange Idle's alot smoother. And also at higher overall rpm, without adjusting the idle.
    Thanks :)
