A MAN died following a collision between a car and a motorcycle near Townsville in Queensland.

Police said the 56-year-old man was a passenger in the car on Bruce Highway at Deeragun about 10.15pm (AEST) yesterday when the collision occurred.

The man suffered serious injuries and died on the way to Townsville hospital.

Police said the motorcyclist suffered a broken arm and two broken wrists.

  2. Its not often we here about a collision where the motorcyclist survives and the car occupant is the fatality. Even though, death on the roads is still a tragedy no matter who, how, or why. Condolences to the family of the deceased, and a speedy recovery to the rider.
