Can't choke it

Discussion in 'Technical and Troubleshooting Torque' at netrider.net.au started by gazza_55, Jul 20, 2007.

  1. I own a '92 cbr 1000 N model. My problem is with my choke, When choke lever is pulled on the plungers on the carbs move in and out as they are supposed to but i have no working choke as such. almost impossible to start these cold mornings. Once motor is running it is possible to get choke to work by fiddling with choke lever on off on off etc.

  2. It sounds like the chokes are set outside the range you need.

    A carbie service may help

How much slack have you got in the cable?
  3. Yes sounds like an adjustment issue to me too. Take up all the slack bar about 1.5mm at the choke lever with the cable adjuster and see how you go.

    Regards, Andrew.
