Buying tyres in Sydney

Discussion in 'Riding Gear and Bike Accessories/Parts' at netrider.net.au started by Freeky, Aug 6, 2011.

  1. Hi all,

There are a few threads discussing which brands of tyre are suitable for certain bikes, but not many discussing where to buy said tyres in Sydney.

I just want to report a good experience.

I called two shops this morning, Balmain Motorcycles in Rozelle (http://www.balmainmotorcycles.com.au/) and The Helmet Warehouse in Bankstown (https://www.thehelmetwarehouse.com.au/store.php), and asked for a quote on a set of some good tyres for my GS500F.

-Balmain Motorcycles quoted around $360 for Bridgestone BT 045s fitted in one hour.
-Helmet Warehouse quoted $330 for Pirelli Sport Demons also fitted in one hour.

I ended up going to Helmet Warehouse (as they are closer and I prefer Pirelli), and the service was great, very friendly. I also bought a new set of brake pads which they fitted for free.

    Very happy with my purchase.
Now time to work on those chicken strips :)

  2. Not bad pricing..
It's generally cheaper to buy from overseas however then you get charged a fitting fee...
