Buying My First Bike

Discussion in 'General Motorcycling Discussion' started by POW365, Aug 16, 2012.

  1. Hi,

Im looking at getting a second hand bike from a dealer tomorrow.
    A Kawasaki GPX250 2006 model.
Its got 17,000 on the clock and priced at $3500.
Im so buzzed to get my new bike and can't wait.
  2. Top first bike too. I hope you enjoy it!
  3. Good to see you've made a decision to buy the bike
  4. Nice choice, if I don't say so myself!!

    Price also seems reasonable.

    Which dealer?
  5. Yeah, that is a good price! Hope you enjoy it!
  6. I bought a 2005 3 months ago with 40k on it for $2500. So if it's in VG condition, a year younger and with only 17k it sounds ok to me. I'm at the point now where I'm screwing the ring out of it but it's serving it's purpose well and part from a starter motor fix, hasn't let me down. The front springs need to be higher rated, probably around .7 it dives under heavy braking but I won't bother as I'm not intending to keep it much longer.
Good 1st bike I'm sure you will enjoy it. I have a copy of the full workshop manual, if you want a copy pm me.
  7. Good on you mate, hopefully in time your partner will understand. Stay safe(y).
  8. Onya matie.. Did you pre-pack your swag, food, water, dog house etc??

  9. awesome stuff, hope you enjoy it :)

  11. Good to see you got it man. Did the other issue involved sort itself or is it still to come to a head?
  12. Yer, the first ride was great.
The rest will have to see.
  13. Good luck mate. I hope it gets sorted in a mature adult way.
  14. Good luck with the 'new' bike. Hope you'll enjoy the rides.
