Buying a New bike from interstate

Discussion in 'Politics, Laws, Government & Insurance' at netrider.net.au started by ss--ss, Jan 13, 2009.

  1. Hi, Found that I can save around a grand if I buy a new bike from a qld dealer & have it shipped down to Sydney. I know I will have to pay for greenslip & stampduty / rego in NSW but does anyone know if it still needs to be inspected by the RTA if it's brand new , (I think it's a blueslip ?)..

Not sure if it's all worth the hassle..
  2. Not worth it for just a grand.
    shipping 500
    blue slip .. 30
    stamp dutie 400?
    Rego 480

I'd be talking to your local dealer and working on a deal :)

It's amazing what you can get if you show them a wad of cash and say " I.m buying a bike today.... whether it's from you or down the road I don't care..... so start talking deals" :)
  3. +1, if the dealer wants to sell you a bike, he'll match the price I'm sure, otherwise another one will.
