Busted farings. Chemical Welding

Discussion in 'Bling and Appearance' started by karl2ltgc, Feb 25, 2008.

  1. Heres a link that i found

Talks about fixing fairings with methylene chloride acrylic cement.
I would like to give it a go.
Its not a glue, it just fuses the plastic back together, it is apparently available at a plastic supply store.

But were are all the plastic supply stores in melbourne???
Ive tried yellow pages and cant find anything.
    Cheers Karl
  2. Very interesting, but not useful for anything but very minor cracks.
  3. Interesting
  4. Excellent report with pics. Didn't look ruff at all to me. ;-)

  5. Thanks for the replies. I actually found a place in hallam that sold me this glue used for perspex, ended up gluing the fairing back together an it seems to be holding up well.

Sourced secondhand panels from US ebay and just gonna send them straight to get paint.
