  1. Hey all,

Now - I'm aware you can travel in a bus lane but want to confirm something..
If you pull up to a set of traffic lights with a bus lane light and it goes green(or clear) are we legally allowed to go??

  2. I can't see why not. If it's one of those 20 metre bus lanes before traffic lights, double check that it's not a bus only lane
  3. You should probably point out what state you are from. In VIC it is illegal for a bike to ride in a bus lane. (And one of the reasons for this is the question of what to do when the green light for buses come on... do bikes go or not?)
  4. Especially if there's a bus behind you at the time of you risk getting run over.
  5. If there's a "B" light at an intersection it's nearly always because the lane is a bus-only lane as it gets to the lights.

If you get caught going through one of those while the main light is still red not only will you get pinged for travelling in a bus only lane, but you could also cop a fine for going through a red light. That's $591 + 6 points all up... so double check before you go riding into that lane.
