Bulb for VTR250 headlight

Discussion in 'Technical and Troubleshooting Torque' started by kchl, Jun 11, 2010.

  1. Hi guys, I need a new bulb for my 2005 VTR250. The low beam never worked from the day I bought it 2nd hand and I would like to get it changed.

What size (H1,H2,etc?) would I need and any recommendations on brand/model?

  2. H1, H2 etc look different. Take the old one out and take it to the shop and just get a match.
  3. I'll try that, what about brand/model? I've heard Philips motovision is good.
  4. Personally I doubt the brand matter much. There are some globes which claim to give more light for same wattage but that is more the type of glove than the brand.
  5. Take bulb to auto shop. When I had a vtr I did that to replace the bulb. Was easy, cost ten bucks. Turns out my problem was the wiring, which cost me a little more.
  6. its a H4...
most car autoshops will sell you a H4 60/55w for around $10..

  7. low beam doesn't work, sounds like you might have wiring issues.

Follow Mr Pea's advice and grab an H4 55W from supercheap/repco, and if your low beam still doesn't work come back.

  8. Its a h4

bit of a snake pit behind the headlights though!
