Bulahdelah Mountain

Discussion in 'Hazardous Road Condition Reports' started by stuk, Jun 22, 2012.

  1. Rode Bulahdelah Mountain (O'Sullivans Gap) on 20/6/12 road surface has some very large patchs of moss growing, this is due to the lack of traffic over the mountain these days and the overhanging trees not allowing sunlight in.

  2. There's one particular patch that has had moss growing on it for many years (downhill right hander with a gutter and table drain on the left), could end up very nasty on a bike if you didn't know it was there!

This is of my favourite roads for a car, don't like it as much for bikes with all the leaf litter, sticks, gravel etc on the road. Not to mention the patchy road surface where it's been repaired a lot. That said still a good ride none the less and a worthwhile detour off the freeway if you're in the vicinity!
