Bolwell Arriba 125 shuddering on take off

Discussion in 'Scooters' started by mcorkill, Jan 28, 2011.

  1. My apologies if this has been covered in previous threads. I have just bought Bolwell Arriba 125 and in the last few days it has started to shudder and rev a lot on take off before settling down to smooth ride as it gets up to speed. Is this a clutch probelm or something I canix relatively easily at home. Any assitance would be most appreciated!

  2. My guess is that either the roller weights in the variator are sticking or the v-belt is stuffed. Either way, see someone who knows scooters to have it fixed. You didn't say if it was new. How many kilometres on it and is there a service history? If you're around the 15-20,000km mark then probably a worn belt if it's never been replaced.
  3. Thanks for that, much appreciated, it's on 15000 ks, sounds about right.
