Bollards in Manchester

Discussion in 'The Pub' started by cruisingal, Mar 21, 2007.

  1. Watch the effect that these have on the traffic. I think I would prefer having our speed humps

  2. mmmn i can see how they are effective. No means no to a bollard.
  3. LOL @ the Kia Sportage with the airbags deployed ! hahahahha !
  4. That has to be one of the stupidest ideas i've ever seen
  5. not really I can see the point in bus malls and along certain waterfronts here in surfers where this could be use effectivley.

anyhow on a bike we have full access cars well they have some spectaular results...
  6. Pop-up bollards? Bollocks! That's seriously NOT a good idea, whatever happened to the good, old fashioned boom gate?

That poor guy in the van right at the end broke the windscreen with his head... ouch
  7. :WStupid:
  8. I reckon its a good idea.
I remember seeing this first hand while I was in France a few years ago.
There are warning signs everywhere telling drivers of its use.

Its funny watching the French argue.
    hahahaha

Its ideal for areas where the architectural and heritage surrounds need to be maintained. The bollards blend into the classic european style concrete posts and cobblestone walkways, much better than swinging boom gates.
