Black spur

Discussion in 'Roads, Touring, Journeys, and Travel' started by steltzer, Nov 6, 2011.

  1. I did my first run of the black spur yesterday, and I must say, best road I have riden so far (I haven't riden alot yet). I have clocked up 4000 kms on my ninja 650 rl, still on my l's, and the weather was just too good. what a ride. got the whole thing on go pro, but I am a noob at editing and chopping it up etc. just wanted to say I had a great time riding and enjoying by myself. (just for the kitten owners, I have had my L's for 4 months and was just taking in the scenery, mostly 8-[ )

  2. it is indeed a great road, gotta watch out for a) idiots and b) coppers

was up there today, went to overtake a 4wd who decided coming across into my lane was a good idea...

didnt see any cops, but i always stay within the 'limit' there :)

have you gone up the reefton spur, or chum creek rd? also very close, and on par for sure with the black spur, also (generally) less traffic :)
