Bikes to own list

Discussion in 'General Motorcycling Discussion' started by Vertical C, Sep 13, 2016.

  1. Ok, so following on from the bikes you have owned thread, I wanted to ask does everyone else have a list of bikes they want to own before they retire.

Mine is, in no particular order

Some Ducati two valve, air cooled probably Monster
    Aprillia RS125 two stroke
    Kawasaki w650
    Yamaha sr400/500
    KTM 690SM
    Ducati 749/999
MV Agusta F4 in agostini colours
    Vespa PX200 manual
    Triumph Rocket
Some bike that was manufactured before my year of birth.
    Honda Valkyrie 1500
    Honda F6B
    BMW K1600LT
A Moto Guzzi, probably the sport 1100 if i can find one.
    BMW 1150 rockster
    BMW r1200gs
Yamaha Tenere 660 one of the new ones.
Honda CT200 adr farm bike as a commuter around the city for the lols
Some sort of sidecar, probably a Ural
    Indian Scout
    Kawasaki H2

So many bikes so little time.....

    Whats your list?

Missed KTM exc300 two stroke with motards
  2. A 'classic' yet reliable bike, like a W800 or a modern Bonnie.
A monster sports tourer, like a Kawasaki 1400GTR
    A chuck-able thing like a Duke 390
A super motard, just for laughs
    A cruiser, preferably metric
An Italian, MV Agusta over Ducati, I think
An electric bike, to feel what the future might be like
A proper Adv tourer, perhaps Africa Twin or Super Ten
A 350cc or under trail bike.

I think I've covered most available categories, there.

Trouble is, my mis-proportioned body severely restricts my choices.
Most bikes are just too small.
  3. Oh electric is good. Miissed that one.
  4. A 2 smoke triple in great condition please.

    Suzuki GT380 or Kwaka KH500
    • Agree Agree x 1
  5. Oh there's so many. I don't know where to begin.......
    • Agree Agree x 2
  6. A 4 valve Ducati, probably a 959 Panagale or a Desmosedeci
    A supermotard, probably a KTM690
    A trail bike, probably a KLX250 again, or a CRF250
    A H-D Breakout
A Kawasaki Z125 just for the fun of it
An MV 1090 Brutale and F4RR
A big land bardge cruiser (Not Lead wing) with an Armchair on the back for my wife

Now to win lotto, so that I can buy the bikes, a place to park them with a good shed and retirement so I can enjoy them.:hilarious:
  7. Triumph Scrambler
    BMW FR800
    Harley Night rod
    Something electric
  8. Panigale R
    BMW GS1200
    Old school WWII era BMW
  9. I'm a simple man...

I want a 2T enduro, perhaps a 300EXC (had a 250EXC many years ago and loved it, apart from repair bills!)

An adventurer, Triumph Tiger, Africa twin or F800GSA (think the 1200 might be a bit overkill for me)

And some sort of HD, maybe a forty eight.

If I chucked a sports bike in there, maybe a 996 cause my mates dad had a brand new one in the day and I loved it.

If I could get those 4 bikes in my garage now I'd probably be done. For a while at least anyway haha
  10. Can't resist this...although technically disqualified as I'm already retired

A Velocette Thruxton, (in working order, plus big box of spares) so I can show off at the pub
A newer and even farklier wee storm, with all mod cons to replace my existing one.
MV Agusta F4.... Always wanted an MV since watching Ago blat round Brands Hatch
Suzuki drz400 with lots of knobblies for my local gravel roads

Two out of four will be a good enough result, I think.
  11. BMW R1200RT
    Indian Scout
    Ducati 959 Panigale
    BMW R50 or similar (old/vintage/veteran)
  12. I want:

    2017 HD Street Glide Special
    Panigale 959

    See, I'm not greedy......oh and I'm already retired from work....not life. ;)
  13. Assuming I'm off LAMS before I retire, a brand new CB1100EX

It better be a damn good bike or I'll be sorely disappointed :|

  14. Whenever I sit and think of all the bikes I'd like to own, this song always seems to pop in my head

  15. Ok I've thought about it, in no particular order, and I reserve the right to add to it as I think of more bikes.

    BSA Gold Star,
    Triumph Speed Twin,
    Suzuki RGV500,
    Aprilia RSV250,
    Ducati 916,
    Kawasaki Z900,
    Yamaha XS1100
    Suzuki 750 Katana,
    Harley Davidson Dyna Glide Sport,
    Yamaha FJR 1300,
  16. my biggest wish would be that I never sold my BMW R1150 R :sour: Foto 2.JPG

  18. -BMW R1200RT: When the grey hair starts showing
-GTR 1400: Partner has pre-approved the purchase
-Cbr1100xx Superblackbird: Tempted to buy as my next bike however keep reminding myself that I can't afford to loose my licence
    -KTM adventure 1290
-Zero electric bike: when they release a fairing-ed version that doesn't cost more then a car
    -Kawasaki gpz750 Turbo
-Honda CBX (inline 6): Even just to ride
-CBR250RR: Ridden a few but never bought one
    -RS125 2 stroke

Already have 4 bikes forced to follow the 1in=1out directive....:(
  19. Bloody 'ell! You are only about 12 years too late to ask me that.

Know the feeling! My wife insists that if I get another bike, one of the current ones has to go. :-(

It's really annoying when the boss notices such basic things as the lack of room for another bike in the garage. <sigh>

  20. Without being able to ride any of them yet, in the correct order:
    KTM RC390
    Triumph Street Triple
    Ducati Pantah 500
Norton Dominator with the aluminium tank.

Oh, and one beautiful, impractical cyber-café racer in duck-egg blue.

    Easy :)
