Bike will not start / run on choke (yes even when cold)

Discussion in 'Technical and Troubleshooting Torque' at netrider.net.au started by disassembled, Feb 22, 2007.

  1. Strange one, 1990 CBR250RR, Will not start or run on choke. Even first thing in the morning. I have no idea, does make it hard to warm up though, because won't idle without it unless on the throttle.

  2. What is the bike idling at?

It could be running too rich on the idle jets or the float level could be wrong. It could be the choke circuits themselves.

  3. Bike is set tp idle at around 1100-1200 when warm, idles at nothing when cold.

Should be getting the carbs tuned and balanced next month, perhaps this will solve the problem.

Choke also slips back down when pulled up.
