this may sound like a silly question
wot's the best way to wash my bike??
Not silly, but very common - so....
Using the search function is a good start.
brasso is an awsome polish for use on stainless steel parts, it will bring a near oginal finish, it wont get rid of scratches but.
Plexis Spray. Comes in a blue can - amazing stuff.
You can get it as PS but hard to find.
Or Autobarn and pay $5 more than at PS - did this on the weekend, couldnt believe my eyes!!
i use kitten car wash. soak a sponge in the soapy water and rub it down with that. rinse it off with a bucket, dry and polish.
works for me that sounded stupidly simple.
Simple is not stupid...[/quote]
on the plexis it is good stuff.
But first clean it all with warm soapy water.
Oh and make sure you lube your chain after.
It comes up great every time.
I use Eucalyptus oil to clean chain lube off my back wheel. Cleans it up a treat, and you don't have to use huge amounts. Plus it smells good.
oh yeah i've also heard Haggismaen RAVING about the use of canola oil.
But each to their own i guess.
I use petrol to clean chain lube where it shouldn't get, the wheels the swingarm every now and then, and plexus after all that.
but keep the plexus away from your seat.
Mr Sheen will do pretty much the same thing as Plexus as far as the wheels, etc go....
Bit cheaper too
CT18 truckwash is the goods.
I've been taking mine to the local car was.
info on the plexus spray.
and Mulfords the distributors
It's a god send in the laundry too!
Will provide the bucket, water, sponge, car wash & cup coffee if you come do mine & Mr Charmed's ... Im to stuffed right now, & they really need a wash, was greeted by a swam of bees 60 odd k's from home
Take it in for a service during school holidays ....... my mechanics son decided he should wash it 'cos its red & should look shiny
dont blast the carbies, air box, or down the end of the exhaust with the hose! Ive seen it done, bikes wont run on water!
