Bike mechanic in Southern Tasmania

Discussion in 'Bling and Appearance' at netrider.net.au started by Genetical, May 9, 2008.

  1. Hi folks,

Does anybody know of a good motorbike mechanic in Hobart or within 40mins of Hobart?

I have recently purchased an 88 Suzuki GS450 and want to give it a good service, tune up and look over, but due to the age (and simplicity?) of these motors I figure I'm better off taking it to a knowledgeable and experienced 'backyard mechanic' rather than paying top dollar for it to be done in a shop.

When I had a bike back in 2000 I used to take it to a guy in Lauderdale but I lost touch with him when I sold the bike later that year and from what I can see he doesn't live there anymore.

    Any suggestions?

Do normal 'car' mechanic places generally do bikes also?

NB. I am considering doing some units at TAFE so as to learn to do most of it myself, but that will take time, of which I have little this year, so in the meantime I'll need to rely on someone else.
