Benelli Velvet 400

Discussion in 'Scooters' started by Mickyb V9, Nov 10, 2006.

  1. Anyone have experience with this Scooter ? let alone Benelli scooters ???

I sw one of these, its a 400cc on a body almost the same size as a Vespa GTS250ie, apparently they go !!

    So its down to 3 . . . .

    Aprilia SportCity 250ie
    Vespa GTS250ie
    Benelli Velvet 400.

Gilera VXR200 Runner is off the list now, looks too common like the other sports-bike looking scoots like the Peugeot SpeedFight and others.
  2. I had a Benelli 491rr scoot. Just a little 50cc job. It was a great scoot. I wish i never got rid of it. I liked it for the same reasons you are considering the Velvet - its different. I loved the fact that most people didnt know anything about them. I found parts very easy to come by. Sure sometimes things werent in OZ but they were easily obtainable from Italy.

Hang on, i just realised your talking about the 400cc version. AFAIK that was the "old" Velvet Touring back before Benelli was bought by that huge Chinese company. The new version of the Velvet is a 150cc scoot.
