Basic bike maintenancce

Discussion in 'Technical and Troubleshooting Torque' started by pommydave, Apr 22, 2011.

  1. Hey all! I got my first bike last week (zzr 250) and would love a few hints/pointers on regular maintenance and checks that I can do myself. I know nothing about oil, chains, cleaning..... well, u get the gist!

Any advice or help would be appreciated, I'm keen to learn as much as I can so I dont look like a nob by taking my bike to the mechanics for an un oiled chain lol

    Thanks riders
  2. Search the internet for a workshop manual of your ZZR. Then familiarize your self with your bike through that.
Basic services are dead easy and should be part of the licensing program for mine.
Chain tension, trye pressure and oil levels should be done daily. Before you ride. But even the most pedantic will do it weekly at most.
  3. Lots covered in the threads here
