Attention Aprilia Caponord Owners

    Is it really a case of bolts not tight?

    Why do guys have to keep torquing to such extreme lengths, and so regularly?

    Isn't it more likely to be a case of:

    1) Insufficient material to mate 2 different surfaces to?

    2) Incompletely (or roughly) finished mating surfaces?

    Look at the pic in the link I posted and tell me if:

    3) the washers are too thin and undersized - they don't spread the workload over a great enough area?

    4) Vibration of all the weight (whether you are touring in third world countries or not) on the back of such small mounts will fret the aluminium, and that is why the nuts keep "seeming" to come loose?

    Hope someone comes up with a decent solution.

    Yup,looks like poor assembly is to blame also.
    You would think that a Rally Raid model,with its ungraded suspension and all would handle it.
    I think the correct torque is 50nm.
    But the steel bracket is the way I'd look at too...
