Anyone commuting from the Southern Highlands to Sydney?

Discussion in 'New Riders and Riding Tips' at netrider.net.au started by sandmonster, Nov 7, 2013.

  1. I'm a recent addition to the sight and am looking for any experiences riders have with commuting from Bowral/Mittagong area to Sydney. I'm currently a scooter commuter from Northern Beaches to Surry Hills, but the family is seriously considering a tree change move to Bowral/Mittagong.

My work in IT is fairly flexible, but I would still have to
make the trip into the office. Research shows during peak it can be 2hrs plus travel time - car or train! So has anyone any experience or tips doing the commute on a bike - any quicker/
    same time?

I would certainly be getting a bigger bike if this turns out to be feasible. I've had an initial tip of making the ride to Campbeltown then training it from there. Is filtering through traffic from Campbeltown to Sydney feasible? (don't know that stretch of road at all!)

Great to be on the site as a new mature rider!
