Any ZZR-250 owner - can you please help?

Discussion in 'Technical and Troubleshooting Torque' started by jack_1313, Mar 9, 2011.

  1. Hi guys, can someone with a ZZR-250 please help me confirm that the gear-change lever does have a bend in it as a stock feature (ie it's not supposed to be completely straight), like in this picture:

A friend recently stacked his bike and bent his gear lever - now I need to know what shape to bend it back into. I could have sworn it was straight to begin with but perhaps I'm mistaken.

    Thanks heaps!

  2. Yep, should be like the one in the pic. At least mine is anyway!
  3. The bend in the middle is normal, you'd be doing well to bend a straight lever into that shape in a drop without it snapping off entirely.

Does appear as if the rubber coated bit is bent slightly though, but that's about normal for a ZZR (ie pretty much all of them have at some time been sitting on the end of the shift lever).
  4. +1 (just checked mine)
  5. Ok, thanks heaps for the help guys! I'll see what I can do.
