Antifog in olympics visors (luge)

Discussion in 'The Pub' started by waedwe, Feb 18, 2010.

  1. Just wondering if anyone knows what on earth they use to stop fogging in olympic athletes visors?
i am sitting here watching the luge on tv, and noticing them in the i expect freezing temps surrounded by ice, huffing and puffing inside there helmets before launching, and not a skerrick of fog appears on the visor, very impressive. as opposed to my antifog visor on the motorbike helmet fogging on a mild highlands morning today

  2. Unicorn tears!
  3. i knew it!
  4. Rain-X maybe? Or something similar?
  5. dunno but when I watched one event it appeared one of the visor's fogged up... although I wasn't slightly distracted with dinner at the time also...
  6. waedwe: I just asked the question via email to the Australian winter olympic committee and see what reply we get.
  7. Dishwashing liquid. One drop on the inside of the visor and smear liberally.
