  1. Hi Folks
I'm after a low-profile PCI (not PCI-Express) LAN card WITH a PXE bootrom. Any idea where I could buy such a beast (actually if one works, I need about 6)?
    Thanks in advance

  2. Have you turned into a Geek in your old age ? No Smee, I said Geek.
  3. I've always been a geek!!

I have several PCs which will not boot FROM the new network via their built-in network interfaces, but which MIGHT do so though an add-in card...

    At least that's the thinking........
  4. Boot from LAN will be BIOS config.
  5. What Bitsar said - Enable Wake On Lan in the BIOS.
  6. Wake on LAN is a different feature to PXE Boot
  7. As BitSar notes, you may need to enable PXE in the BIOS if you haven't checked for that already.
  8. Yeah, did all that, the particular network setup on that motherboard just won't PXE boot, and Googling the fault with that motherboard as part of the search confirms I'm not the only one to find that out :(. Anyway, it was worth a try.
