Alarm systems for scooters / bikes

Discussion in 'Riding Gear and Bike Accessories/Parts' started by Avodka, Jun 17, 2006.

  1. Ive thought of getting an alarm and thought (like you I guess) that I could go a bit on the cheap side and go eBay because its not a car alarm and its carb fed so I dont have an immobiliser

But then I thought - I dont want some shitty cheap piece of shite that goes off every few minutes, or shorts out in the rain, or malfunctions or whatever else - so I dont know about the build quality of those alarms - but generally you get what you pay for

and if you are more than a few hundred meters away from your ride then what good is an alarm gonna do anyway? Plus, if its a scooter you've got then someone can just pick it up and put it in the back seat of a car so I dont think an alarm will really do its job
  2. in the true spirit of vic, i'm fine thanks, yourself?
  3. Hi all

    Good point.

But I would rather have an alarm than nothing.

Is the jaycar one the best cheapie alarm vs the two ebay ones then?

  4. better than nothing, and its cheap ;)
