Affordable DIY CCTV security for your bike

Discussion in 'General Motorcycling Discussion' at netrider.net.au started by Spud Gun, Jan 24, 2005.

  1. After seeing a few posts here about bikes being stolen, damaged, etc. Here are some links to DIY digital CCTV systems that are motion activated. These are affordable and well worth the money especially if your bike is on the street. There are lots to choose from at this link:

    Some good ones:
http://www.itwarehouse.com.au/warehouse/detail.htm?ProductID=SS-CMC-SWA2011 Day/night weatherproof camera. 15 meter range in the dark.
http://www.itwarehouse.com.au/warehouse/detail.htm?ProductID=SS-CMC-SWA2006 Day/night camera with a shorter night range (2/3 meters)
http://www.itwarehouse.com.au/warehouse/detail.htm?ProductID=SS-CMC-SWA4007 Wireless system with day/night camera that can connect to a PC capture card.
  2. I've been looking out for an affordable wireless (2.4Ghz) motion detector one that works over IP with existing network equipment (ie. no need for a seperate receiver - just use existing acess point). S/ware on server to display images (and record). If you've seen one of these in your travels, can you let me know :)

  5. Ah I was thinking about having a camera on my bike. How would you go about rigging it up in terms of power consumption, video storage and theft/vandalism prevention of the camera?
