Advice needed: best practice bike transport

Discussion in 'General Motorcycling Discussion' started by pil, May 31, 2006.

  1. Just a quick one, any tips and or advice on best pratice for securing your bike when transporting it over long distances. Its going in a bike crate and on a truck( hopefully! ) just want it to arive in one peice. I hate doing stuff I dont know how to do my small brain just cant handle the load. Thanks in advance. If you read this darren I will call ya today still waiting on other people.

  2. Hi!
Just ratchet strap the bike to the crate, via strong secure points on the bikes frame and bars.
Remove your mirrors and any items that may get damaged if it gets bumped.
Attemp to cardboard the sides of the crate, so it looks like a brand new bike in a crate. This will minimise the risks of damage.
    Speak soon.
    Darren.
  3. Thanks darren I knew ya would read this. I hear so many conflicting things from people Its hard to know that right thing to do. Speak to ya soon . Thanks
