Adjusting the throttle cable

Discussion in 'Technical and Troubleshooting Torque' started by Toefa, Nov 2, 2007.

  1. I have about 5-10mm free play in the throttle before i start to feel any tension and just wondering if it is possible and/or advisable to adjust the cable so that there is no freeplay?

    Hope that makes sense :?

  2. That's way too much.

I have an adjustment screw thing on the throttle cable a short distance from the the throttle grip. If you've got one, have a play. The workshop manual and owners manual for the ZX9r says 3mm play recommended.
  3. I had a bit too much play in mine, too, and just fixed it thanks to your tip. Thanks, mate!
  4. Thanks Robsalvv!! I will check it out when i get home and see if it has one.
