Adapting a K6 GSXR600 tail to a K5

Discussion in 'Modifications and Projects' started by Gixxa Freddy, Jan 28, 2008.

  1. I was wondering if anyone can tell me if this is possible, has it been done and what would go into doing it. It's just one of the mods I am thinking of for my 600. Think it would be pretty cool.

Cheers to any one who replies.

  2. I doubt it will fit straight on so you will need to be handy at plastic welding and then spray painting. Alot of work for a cosmetic mod, and not worth it imho.

You could always just buy my K6!
  3. Why plastic weld and spray paint? Would zip ties and duct tape not be good enough?

Seriously though, check out the mounting locations for the sub frame, you may find that the 05/06 models are roughly the same and with a bit of coaxing it may well fit. Although this does require a bit of work to remount everything stored within the tail section, but it should give a fantastic end result.
