Across question, about the oil filter

Discussion in 'Technical and Troubleshooting Torque' started by Manya, Aug 22, 2007.

  1. Stupid question but, do I have to remove the headers in order to replace the oil filter on the across? if so, do i need any extra gaskets or can I re-use the old ones?

  2. Nope you dont need to remove the pipes.
  3. You don't have to remove the downpipes, but as I'm sure you're discovering it's a biatch of a job getting the fecker in and out. There's one particular orientation that lets you squeeze the filter through the pipes by about a billimetre, and you just have to keep at it until you work out what it is. The new filter seems to go in easier than getting the old one out, in my experience... But what a SHIT piece of design that is!
