Acewell gauge and wiring query

Discussion in 'Modifications and Projects' started by bikeboy, Dec 24, 2009.

  1. I know there's a few of you out there running Acewell gear, and I was just wondering about your experiences with the wiring of these units. I've just received my 3853 (or something!!) link here and was struck by the relatively light gauge of the wiring in relation to the existing harness on my cb900. I'm just a little concerned that I may be feeding too much current to the LCD and LED units, so I'm just asking for feedback and experiences to allay my fears ;-)

Let me know how your installations went?

  2. ive run 2 on previous bikes. never had an issue with anything blowing on them.

theyre good units for the price. sometimes the tacho is a bit off. but generally you cant go wrong with them.

did you go with the bike specific sensor or magnetic pickup? ive always gone with the magnet and had some fun working out where to mount them.
  3. cool. I've got the magnet sensor. they didn't offer a version for my bike.
