A stick by any other name

Discussion in 'The Pub' at netrider.net.au started by hornet, Sep 22, 2008.

  1. Some years ago our school was given a straggly, half meter stick which, we were assured, was a waratah bush. Yeah, right.

    So the guys here stuck the stick in the 'garden bed' in the school quadrangle, gave it some basic watering, and today it looks like this;

    Pq20wgu9.

    I'm told this many blossoms on a waratah is most unusual :shock:.

  2. That's amazing! how many years is "some years" - I would have thought it would have to be at least 10...

  3. Well, no, the school site is an old site, but this school only commissioned it and took it over in 1990, and the tree wasn't planted in the first year, I know. Amazing isn't it?
