A question on Rego for the Scooterists amongst us

Discussion in 'Politics, Laws, Government & Insurance' at netrider.net.au started by nobby, Jan 10, 2012.

  1. Sorry .. should have added Victoria to question..

My Honda weighs in at 230kg, 745cc and a VicReg bill of $517,

The Family 4B weighs in at 2730kg, 4500cc and reg is $640.

I know it's all been said before but it still chews my balls everytime my Rego bill comes in...

so as I asked how much is it to register one of those little tackers?

  2. From the current bill for a Honda Lead 100 ...... $336.40

    Registration Fee $38.30
    TAC charge $271.00
    Insurance Duty $27.10

  3. In Qld it's based on the number of seats, is that the same in Vic?
So my two seat CBR125R is the same cost ($406.30) as the largest, most powerful bike, but if I get it converted to 1 seat it's $224.50 instead. The main difference is CTP which is $260 vs. $85

  5. It'll also depend on the postcode of residence.

  6. Rego costs depend on postcode? Wow, how could they justify that?

  7. Dunno but mine (for the car and the bikes) went down last time I moved.

  8. I don't think it's the rego cost that changes. It's the TAC charge that changes based on postcode, just like all insurance premiums.
