99 R1, no top end...

Discussion in 'Technical and Troubleshooting Torque' started by Janosh, May 25, 2008.

  1. I've got nothing above 11k revs :(

The 99 R1 red lines at 11750, so there's something wrong. Runs well through the revs, although I think it's a bit short on power...

I've checked the filters & ex-up valve already!
  2. they usually make max power before redline.
  3. pull the cylinder head off, and re-seat the valves. You will be amazed at the difference.
  4. Are you talking about checking valve clearances??
  5. Re-seating will give you a tight seal where the valve sits against the head in the closed position. Different to clearances. I've seen it done as a home job with 2nd hand valves, grinding paste and a battery drill, but I'm not so big on that myself.
  6. How much would it cost to get that done? is it a big job?
  7. BATTERY DRILL ?!>!>!?!@#%$@$#%

HOLY FR$#@%^%$#@ CRAP!

or are you just trolling ...
