'85 Kawasaki KZ250 LTD Idle revs

    Anyone here know what sort of idle revs these bikes should be set too? I have mine on 2000 at the moment but i have a feeling that is a bit high, ideas?

  2. I don't know for sure, but it would be somewhere between 800 and 1200.

    No way it's 2000. I'm guessing closer to 800.
  3. Yep. 800-1000 is probably about right. A lower tickover will generally give your clutch an easier time, will let your engine run cooler when stationary (major consideration for an old air cooler), will make the bike much easier to ride, and is generally a good thing.

    Just don't turn it down so far that it doesn't idle reliably.
