250 test on Thursday

Discussion in 'New Riders and Riding Tips' started by Squirrel76, Nov 22, 2011.

  1. Hi Guys,

I'm getting nervous about my 250 test on Thursday. My instructor thinks I'll be fine.
Other than estops, o-turns and general riding, what are they looking for ?

I'm doing head checks all the time, and my road position etc is all good.

    Cheers for any other advice.

  2. relax, don't grip the bars too tight
  3. whereabouts are you from?

In NSW they check things like:
    - your bike is roadworthy
    - you dont break traffic rules on the road ride
    - you don't drop your bike
    - you can follow instructions
    - you can leave a 3 s gap
-you can ride in the rain/wind/whatever
    - you can buffer
    - you can negotiate a tricky roundabout
    - you can nod while riding*
-you can deal with traffic without freaking out
-you can make your way back to the testing area without getting lost
    - you can give way
    - you can ride your bike through that little gate entrance to get to the testing area without falling off
    - you can wear appropriate gear

Just all normal stuff, nothing hard really. You'll be fine.

*our instructor/examiner was pretty keen on this
  4. in that case ignore everything I said ;)
  5. ....................and passed it. Officially a two wheeler now.
