This is the provisional race schedule for the 2016 MotoGP Motorcycle Road Racing Grand Prix World Championship as announced by the FIM (Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme). NOTES: See race notes below. Always check the final date with the sanctioning organization and the track prior to the event! There are 18 races on the 2016 schedule. The U.S. MotoGP race in Indianapolis is now history, leaving only the Circuit of The Americas race. That will be the third weekend of the season, after the Argentine MotoGP race at Termas de Rio Honda. A new race has been added, the Austrian GP at the Red Bull Ring on August 14, 2016. Still pending negotiations as of September 2015 are the Jerez and Brno races. The Silverstone race has been moved from August to July 17th, just before the summer break. Assen always had the MotoGP races on Saturday but that is now changed and all races will take place on Sunday.
