2014 CBR1000RR SP shaping up to be a classic

Discussion in 'Bike Reviews, Questions and Suggestions' at netrider.net.au started by positron007, Dec 29, 2013.

  1. Not my type of bike but this is looking to become a future classic

  2. No TCS is a deal breaker for me. Too easy to break traction with 170hp and I wont even start recovering until its too late.

Also apparently has no quickshifter (and possibly no slipper clutch).

I feel like honda are a bit lost with the road supersports. Maybe all their energy is going into rcv1000 which *may* replace this.

  3. That is why I reckon it will become a classic. Last of the pure raw sports bikes, with a design focus on superior handling
  4. The RCV is not going to eventuate as I read somewhere in a mag that Honda has (or is thinking about) shelving the whole project.

As for this bike, I don't really like the garish colour scheme, other than that it looks like a good bike. And apparently it doesn't need TC the way it delivers power, so that is not a huge issue.
