I had my FI light come on during a ride a few days ago, and even tho I stopped almost straight away I felt the need to check the diagnostics. For those who want to know how its done I took a few Pics on how its done. It's an easy job, all you need is a 4mm allen key and a paper clip. this can be done on all FI gixxers, you just need to locate the dealer switch (always next to the ECU) Heres how to do it. Remove the seat and locate the "dealer switch" on the k9, L0 and L1 1000's it looks like the top pic: it will have black/ white, a red/white, a grey and an orange wires coming from it. You need to focus on the Black/ white and the red/ white wires, they will be next to each other. Remove the cap from this wire cluster. Get you paperclip and, after shaping it to suit, push it into the Black/ white and the red/ white pin thingos.. like the second pic. Next with the kill switch in the off position, turn the key on. After the bike goes through its self check, switch the kill switch to the on position. TADA! You are now in "Dealer mode" Looking at the dash it will tell you a code, in my instance it came up: C00 and that means nothing is wrong. See, told ya it was easy! If you ever have an FI light come on this will save you an hours labour and whatever fee the dealers wack on you for a diagnostics check.
