2007 GSX-R1000 headlights

Discussion in 'Technical and Troubleshooting Torque' started by monaro57, Aug 18, 2011.

  1. Hi all

    I have been looking at a 2007 GSX-R1000.
Curious about how the headlights work.

The 2007 model has a projector light on the bottom and standard halogen on top.

Which is the hi and lo beam, I assume one is hi and the other is lo, so is the projector the lo beam?

Also how does fuel economy compare to an equivalent R1, or are they much the same.

  2. Not sure about the gixxer. I just bought a brand new 2011 R1. I know that my bike is the thirstiest of the new litre bikes.
But I use around 6-7L per 100km on the highway. then around town in traffic I use between 5L and up to a staggering 13L per 100km.
Dont forget to take into consideration you will have to be running 98 octane fuel
