1998 Suzuki DR250

Discussion in 'Bike Reviews, Questions and Suggestions' at netrider.net.au started by BurntToast, Jun 11, 2015.

  1. Hi Guys,
Been looking into buying a cheap dirt bike for a while now. Saw a 1998 DR250 for $2000. Has 29,000kms, 11 months of rego, new timing chain, new rear brake pads, new fork seals, new front wheel bearings and a new speedo cable.

I'm not after a bike that will win the Dakar, I'm just after a bike that I can have some fun throwing around on a mates farm and the occasional dirt track. I am after a bike with rego just for the convenience factor.

Has anyone had any dealings with the DR250's/heard of any issues?
  2. Solid motors in them, my brothers ran extremely lean for a long time before it popped.
A Drz250 motor will bolt straight in too.
  3. If you plan on using it on the roads much a 400 might be a better choice.

  4. Actually with the extra gear it's nicer than the drz400 unless you gear it down.
  5. you in melbourne? if so, come down to sat prac and ride mine around
  6. My brother had one for a bit, it doesn't like being flipped doing wheelies as he smashed the case. Apart from that it was fine.
